After few weeks of hard work during my free time, TGuertin.com is finally back after about 1 year offline. The new site appears under the shape of a Blog (or ‘WebLog’), closely implemented with our photo album.

BLOG

The content of this site is presented as posts that are dated and categorized, which makes it easy to follow threads by date or type of content.

 PHOTO ALBUM

We have been a bit more serious about photography in the past year. Therefore the second part of this site is our online photo gallery, which can be reached by either the link provided in the header of this page, or directly at the short address: http://photos.tguertin.com.

The album is quite empty as of now, but we plan to update it significantly in the upcoming weeks.

A link to the 3 most recently added albums is also provided in the right sidebar of the blog.

SERVER

Pages from the blog and the gallery are generated dynamically from the information contained in databases. The amount of data processing involved required the replacement of my good old web server which could not follow anymore.

I was happy to find a used DELL Precision 360 P4 2.8GHz with 2Gb of RAM on Ebay for less than $200. Hooray for Ebay!

It seems to run fine now. I have to find somebody to take my old server (P3-500) because we have like 6 computers for 2 occupants now at home

Updates

With this new format, you now have the chance to leave feedback/comments at the end of each posts. It will also be very easy for us to add content using simple forms from wherever we are.

p.s. I worked hard to customize the blog and the photo gallery to be available in both English and French. It should be easy to switch the language using the provided menus. However, please bear with us if some French language appears here and there while you are in English mode, there may be a few glitches left.
