We had nothing really planned for the Labor Day weekend, but our friend Patty invited us go with her on Pelee Island.

We brought our bikes so we could tour the island at our rhythm. We were lucky because the weather was simply awesome!

Pelee Island is the largest isle of the Erie Lake and is the southernmost populated point of land in Canada.

The ferry ride takes about 1h30. In the morning, we went to the “fish point” park, at the south end of the isle.

We had lunch at the Pelee Island Winery, where you can buy you ingredients that you cook yourself on the provided barbecues. Cool!

In the afternoon, we did the eastern and northern parts of the island going by the lighthouse, where we were eaten alive by mosquitoes.

The beer we had on a terrace at the end of the afternoon was unusually good after all that biking in the heat! At the time we had to leave, our friend patty realized she had a flat tire: she had to finish the trip in a Taxi. At least, this was the end of the day!

We returned to the main land with the 7pm ferry and we had the opportunity to see a very nice sunset. We had a very nice day!
