I passed the Ambassador Bridge on my way back from a business trip to Ohio right at sunset. I had my photo gear in the trunk, ready for action. To the west side of the bridge is a very industrial area. I like the colors.

Industrial sunset

This is a 2sec. exposure at F8 made about 30 minutes after sunset, with a tripod of course.

We went to Toronto for the 2nd weekend in the last month, where this time we met our very good friends Jean & Renette. The weather was not great for picture (overcast skies) but we can’t complain much since at least we did not get caught in the rain!

We did a lot of walking, and went to the CN tower. I have been in Toronto a few times before, but never went in the tower which is one of the most visited attraction in the city. The point of view from the CN Tower was quite impressive. Even skyscrapers looked small from that altitude.

On sunday, we went for a walk in the neiborhood “The Beaches”. This easy to see why so many people are attracted to this area when relocating in the Toronto area. The beach is great and it hardly feels like you are so close from the city.

Overall, it was nice to escape from Windsor for the weekend, especially in such good company!

On Sept 29, we went to Toronto for the weekend. The weather was simply gorgeous for late September. After a walk downtown, we went to the Chinese Lantern Festival 2007 for the evening. This outing provided mutiple photo opportunities!

These lanterns are made by master craftsmen coming from china for this event.

Here are some of our favorite lanterns:

We went to the Holiday Beach Conservation Area two consecutive Saturdays, Sept 15 and 22, to have a look at the migration of Hawks. This place is renowned for its birding. Each fall, thousands of birds of prey take a stop in this area before heading south.

Common species observed includes hawks, vulture, eagles, falcons, etc.

On September 22, was the “Festival of Hawks“.  This was very interesting as we could see some of these magnificent birds from up-close. There was branding demonstrations, and you could “adopt” a bird before releasing him back in nature.

See the photo gallery linked below.

At the end of the month, we’re going to Hawaii!! This is gonna be the first time we leave in vacation for 2 full weeks. We plan to stay one week on the island of Oahu (Punaluu, near the North Shore) and one week on Maui (Near Kihey, South West).

This is our 1 year late honeymoon trip. We are very eager for this trip since we’ve been talking about it for about 6 years!!!

After many weeks of searching for accomodations, we finally found something nice and cheap. We used the website “vacation rentals by owners” to rent 2 condos on waterfront properties.
