We can’t believe how fast Newton is growing. He was between 5 and 7 pounds when we got him couple of weeks ago. He is now over 14 pounds already!

Here’s the puppy in full action! Corinne filmed Newton while playing on the deck. Notice the tendency to bite… Believe me, these teeth are small but very shap!

His motto: If you move…… I’ll bite you! And if you don’t move…… …… I’ll bite you anyway!!!

We always managed to get around with only one car, but lately it’s been a problem since Corinne has to get back home for lunch every day to take care of the puppy. We decided it was time to get a second car. (That becomes an expensive dog!!!)

After a lot of searching, we found a really good deal on a used 2004 Ford Escape XLS 2WD. It’s in really great shape and has only 54 000 Km. It still drives like new. It has the Duratec V6  3.0l engine which I know pretty well since I had the 2.5l version of this engine in my 2001 cougar. I’ve put 175 000 Km on that engine before having problems (an engine seal).

Corinne drives it. She likes it a lot!

With the new puppy, it’s hard to find time for photography. I took an hour last Monday evening for a short visit to Jackson Park, where all the tulips are out.

I have experimented with HDR (High Dynamic Range) pictures before, but I was never really happy with the result. This time was different. The picture of the park below comes from the combination of 7 exposures (from -3 to +3 EV) in the program ‘Photomatix’. It renders well the feeling from that day.

The other pictures were taken normally. Since it was late in the day the light was very warm, which is good for pictures. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this visit.
