We had plans to meet in France this spring since I was supposed to be there for work anyway, but our budget did not agree. So we came up with a ‘plan B’ and opted for a short 4 days cruise in the Bahamas, departing from Miami where we will be able to stop for a short visit to see my grandparents.

That will be interesting because it is going to be our first cruise ever, for both of us. We are not sure we will enjoy the concept, so a short cruise is ideal to just try it.

Here is the itinerary of the cruise:

Here are pictures of the boat we are going to take: the Norwegian Sky.

These ships are monstrous. Here are a few specs: 850 ft in length, 13 decks, a capacity of over 2000 passengers with a crew of 800. It has several pools, hot tubs, golf driving range,  fitness clubs, etc.

We’ll report back after our return!

For his first birthday, Corinne brought our dog Newton for a 30 minute swim at the pool of the Essex Animal Hospital. They use it for therapy, but you can rent the pool to swim with your dog.

A bit unsure at the beginning, Newton soon embraced the toy fetching game. He loves water, swimming, and fetching toys. Therefore he had a blast!

The details of the hike and the GPS track were posted a few days ago already. I took the time to process the pictures correctly and post them online.

The first part of the hike was at the highest elevation, providing a gorgeous view of the coast.

The path on this part of the hike felt more like a ‘highway’ than a ‘trekking path’.

This brings us to the complete bottom of the hill, where the view of the mountains is also interesting.

The trip ends at the coast, where we can find 2 beaches that must be tempting in the summer time.

On the return trip, I passed by the side of the coast passing near the Calanque of Morgiou. At the bottom of it is a small port. This way was the more challenging one, with few technical sections. I did not photograph the most critical one, the very inclined crevasse.

 Randonnée Sugiton

My weight loss program is still on track. I was really careful in France with what I ate. I think I never had so much fish in my life. Somehow, that seemed to always be the safest choice. It was hard to resist to all the tasty looking desserts, but I did. Result after my 2 weeks trip: 7 lbs down again.

In summary: I am now at 197 lbs which is a 30 lbs loss, about 50% of my ultimate target.

50Percent

Our Dog Newton is 1 year old today! Cool: that means that  starting tomorrow, he will be only adorable and not destroy anything anymore… right?
