Greetings from France! I am in the Paris area for work and I will be on the road for a while. So it will take some time before I can get back home, process pictures and post them.

In the mean time, here is a link for other dog lovers!

I sporadically follow the discussions on a photography forum, and they recently a “photo challenge” section where people can start challenges by topic. People then vote for the best ones.

One of the recent challenge was titled: “Lazy Dogs”. Some of the pictures are simply awesome! If you have a minute, it is worth browsing. Here is the link:

Airports often offer interesting architectural elements. The Charles de Gaule (CDG) airport in Paris is certainly no exceptions. I took many pictures during my recent round trip to Marseille (I had a connection in Paris).

On my way over there, I took pictures in the ‘F Terminal’ where I was waiting for my connecting domestic flight. Most of the pictures are of details of the ceilings. In the connecting hub, corridors and ceiling were in concrete.

In the actual gate area, it was a mesh structure offering a lot of lines to work with.

On a precedent trip, I really liked the look of the gate area in Terminal E, used for international flights but I had to run to my plane to make it and took no pictures. On my return trip, I actually took an earlier first flight so that I could get more time waiting for my connecting flight in Terminal E.

The hub area just before looked similar to the hub in Terminal F, but with the ceiling in narrow wood planks, offering a different perspective.

Here is the actual gate area in Terminal E. In this first picture, it is early in the morning, with the sun just rising on the right.

Here is one end of the terminal. Some pictures were processed using a little bit of HDR technique, while some other are obtained by combining 2 exposures and using layer masks in Photoshop to avoid the overexposed situation through the windows.
