That’s pretty funny… A week and a half ago, I went to a running race on the Sunday morning while Corinne went to do a 10k walk for the MS fundation with our dog Newton. Our friend Craig happened to find a picture on the website of the local newspaper, the Windsor Star, showing the events of the weekend caught on camera. Of course, the 10k MS walk was part of that gallery. The least we can say is that Newton got caught in a pretty bad position hehe!

Look in the bottom left corner.. Our now “famous” dog cleaning his private area hehe! Larger version is available by clicking on the image. Here is the link to the Windsor Star Gallery in question:

Nice…

I have never had a dog before that loved snow so much. Therefore, Newton has no complaints about the recent snowfalls!

It’s been a while since the last “Fauna Related Outing”. Last weekend, we did a quick stop at the Holiday Beach Conservation area for a walk during the annual “Hawk Festival”. It was our 2nd Hawk Fest since we also went in 2007.

Some of the birds on display were the same, including this owl and hawk:

And some birds we did not see before:

Walking around, we had a chance to see some other animals from up close, including thse frogs and a turtle that crossed a path just before us:

But whose big nose is that, ruining my picture???

Hawk Festival 2010

For the Canada Day/Independance day weekend, we took a few days off to get a nice 5-day-weekend. Since it’s a big vacation weekend in both countries, we are taking it easy staying local but enjoying the sun and the pool. On Friday, we took Newton to the beach at the Point Pelee National park for some beach time and swimming. Before heading back  home, we took the boardwalk in the marsh area with Newton.

It would be cool one time to rent one canoe to see the area from a different point of view. I do not know if Newton would stay quiet in there though.

Did not pass too much time looking for wildlife, but got to see many dragonflies, a huge turtle and a baby bird that followed us for a while.

Well.. one thing for sure: It’s not me anymore! See below for the setup of a typical night in the home theater. Now.. See the tiny little space left on the left side: that’s for me!

Hard the life life of a dog like ours… The right picture shows how he looks at you when you dare wake him up when it’s time to go back up the stairs for the night…

You can’t say he is not adorable though :).
